Among brambles and forest clearings, the red fruits of rose hips slowly ripen with the cool autumn air. Hand-picked when they reach their peak, these small wild treasures are steeped in organic olive oil to yield, after prolonged maceration, all their regenerating richness.

WHAT IS AN OLEOMACERATE?
An oil macerate is a plant extract obtained by macerating fresh or dried plants in a quality vegetable oil. For weeks, the oil acts as a vehicle that absorbs the fat-soluble active ingredients of the plant — pigments, resins, terpenes, flavonoids — transforming into a highly effective plant concentrate.
Our oil macerates are made in small, artisanal batches, following natural rhythms — lunar cycles, seasons, optimal harvesting times. The base is always organic extra virgin olive oil from the first pressing, except for Rose Enfleurage which uses jojoba. No preservatives, no additives, no rush.
On the skin
On the skin: oleacerates are applied directly without the need for dilution. Their oil base makes them perfect as serums, massage oils, and essential oil bases. They nourish, protect, and deliver the active principles of the plant in a vehicle that the skin recognizes and absorbs easily.
As a base for Essential Oils
As a base for essential oils: oleacerates are the ideal vehicle for diluting essential oils before applying them to the skin. Adults: maximum 2-3% EO. Facial: maximum 1% EO. The combination of oleacerate + essential oil from the same plant is the most complete and synergistic protocol available.
Unlike essential oils, which are obtained by distillation and are highly concentrated, oleacerates are gentle, complete extracts that retain the full complexity of the plant. They do not contain isolated molecules but rather a full spectrum of active ingredients that act in synergy — the most natural and balanced way to harness plant power.
The perfect complement to our Hydrolates
During distillation, the hydrolate collects water-soluble molecules — light, volatile, fresh ones. During maceration, the oil macerate captures fat-soluble active ingredients — resins, pigments, carotenoids — and also some of the aromatic molecules that only oil can dissolve. When applied together to the skin, they blend into a natural emulsion: the hydrolate first, followed by the oil macerate while the skin is still damp. Two extractions, two complementary languages, the most complete care you can offer your skin.

· Ideal temperature: between 15 and 21ºC.
· Close tightly after each use to prevent oxidation.

We chose organic extra virgin olive oil as the base for all our oil macerations for both a traditional and a chemical reason. The tradition: it has been the vehicle of Mediterranean medicine for millennia — the one our ancestors used to macerate local plants. The chemistry: its high oleic acid content and its double bonds make it one of the best natural solvents for extracting fat-soluble active ingredients. The exception is the Old Rose Enfleurage, which uses jojoba — a liquid wax that mimics natural sebum and is the ideal vehicle for the delicate molecules of the rose.

Hydrodistillation in small batches in a copper still over an open flame to achieve the highest quality. It is a long and unhurried process to ensure that its essence is released and all the aromatic principles of the plant pass into the water without alteration, resulting in an exquisite final product.
