Step into the Lilac Garden

His father is the Sun,
his mother the Moon,
the Wind carried him in its belly,
the Earth was his nurse.

Fragment of The Emerald Tablet

A life dedicated to Mother Earth. Cultivating life, breathing in unison.

Jardín de Las Lilas is a family project born from a deep love for the place where we live. We have transformed our space into a permaculture project, striving to find balance among the beings that inhabit it, and, within our means, converting our land into a space full of life.

Aromatic and medicinal plants have guided us throughout these years.

We cultivate and harvest different varieties of plants that we transform into hydrosols, essential oils, and medicinal extracts, all at the most propitious lunar moment to further enhance their properties.

How we work

Always hand in hand with our plant sisters.

Listening to them. Respecting their timing. Honoring them. In a reciprocal dance where they gift us their magic and we care for and love them.

Aromatic and medicinal plants were the path, and without realizing it, they have guided us throughout these years.

Permaculture and organic, sustainable, and artisanal agriculture

For us, the astrological timing and the maturation point of each plant are of vital importance to produce the best quality extracts with a high content of active ingredients.

Alchemy

“The entire distillation process is aimed at obtaining floral waters with a high concentration of active ingredients and a fresh, floral, intense, and unmistakable aroma.”

We distill medicinal plants in our copper still

Our distillation technique differs from the commonly used distillation for essential oils, allowing our floral waters or hydrolats to be a concentrated version of the plant, with all its active ingredients working in synergy.

We distill specifically, in small quantities and with fire, to achieve maximum quality.

It is a long and unhurried process, to ensure that its essence is released and all the aromatic principles of the plant pass into the water unchanged, resulting in an exquisite final product.

The plant is harvested by hand and with traditional tools, so as not to stress it.

The right ripening time is chosen, when the plant has more active ingredients and following the lunar calendar, to enhance its aromas and properties. And this is where our hydrolats or floral waters are born!

We macerate potent extracts in vegetable oil

We prepare our oil macerations under the sun and moonlight for a full lunar cycle, accompanying the plant's transformation with nature's natural rhythm, capturing the energy of the sun and stars.

We follow a respectful maceration process to obtain our infused oils, using the traditional method to ensure good extraction and honor the energetic aspect of each species.

We submerge part of the medicinal plant, such as flowers, leaves, or roots, in a virgin vegetable oil, which acts as an extraction medium.

This way, the lipophilic active ingredients of the plant are transferred to the oil: carotenoids, flavonoids, phytosterols, waxes, traces of essential oils, and fat-soluble phenolic compounds, creating a highly bioavailable natural remedy for both cosmetic and therapeutic use.
